We have nothing but praise for the services we received by All Denmark Relocation. Annemette Krogh, our principle contact, showed herself to be extremely knowledgeable with good contacts, supremely efficient in all matters, and paid a high attention to detail – qualities that were evident repeatedly.
Prior to our 3 day pre-visit meeting, Annemette established e-mail contact in which she provided a comprehensive background to the overall relocation process including giving copies of all paperwork in advance with clear in structions on what we were required to do in advance to optimise our visit.
She was extremely approachable with all our many queries, and she had clearly listened to what we wanted. Moreover, she willingly shared her open view of our search requirements which was appreciated as it meant we did not waste time nor develop unrealistic expectations regarding our move.
During our actual pre visit, we packed a lot in to just 3 days – viewing houses, re-viewing house!, registering for residence and work permits, touring the area etc all with minimal queuing and all done in anefficient yet still relaxed manner with stops for coffee and marvellous recommendations of where to eat in the evenings.
The local area tours were also commendable and greatly assisted in our settling down fast when we did actually move here, e.g. we knew how trains, buses, post offices supermarkets etc all functioned. Having found our perfect house (on Day 1!), Annemette & colleagues were then instrumental in sorting out all the paperwork and in answering our many questions back in the UK, whilst also assisting us when there were problems and delays in getting the contract signed, mon ey wired etc.
Prior to us moving permanently, Annemette met with the agent & took inventory of the house on our behalf (and during the Xmas/New Year vacation period), left us the keys and was quick to follow up on the few initial problems we still had. Thanks to Annemette’s high standards we received a very good welcome to the country! Overall, Annemette took the stress out of the entire relocation process – no mean feat!
Furthermore, we were fortunate to interact with one of Annemette’s colleagues too (Anne), so we are convinced that the high qualities detailed above are evident in the company, and not just in the single person. When you have spent 16 years (in fact all your adult life) overseas, returning home can be a most daunting prospect. After 16 years in the UK we (English husband, Danish wife and 12 year old daughter) decided on a permanent relocation to Denmark. I had always wanted to return and I am lucky to be married to a person who is equally fond of Denmark and what it stands for. Our daughter’s age meant that if we were to postpone the decision any further, we may end up with a split family in 6 years time.
Whilst it is perfectly advisable for a foreigner relocating to Denmark to seek the assistance of a relocation company, most people would say that as a Danish citizen you would have no need for such assistance. In some cases this may be true if the have been lucky enough remain fully au-fait with Danish society whilst abroad (and no, the odd family visit really is not sufficient to prepare you for this major change).
After careful consideration and investigation we however discovered that there were plenty of areas we had little and insufficient knowledge of such as: job market, salaries, house buying process & prices, residence permits, finances, taxation, schooling, cost of living, legislation and rules, official forms to bring from UK/obtain in DK and “A-kasser” unemployment funds (an alien concept in the UK).
In spite of undertaking a great deal of research prior, during which we came across a number of useful websites, the challenge was that the available information was mostly based on a) Danes moving overseas, b) expat Danes returning back as pensioners, c) Danes returning back after only the odd year overseas. Hence whilst a lot of this advice was most useful, it really was not geared around our kind of scenario.
To this end we contacted All Denmark Relocation and were instantly met with a comforting, immensely knowledgeable and professional approach. The true “one-stop-shop” concept of bespoke service offerings was impressive and most reassuring. A superb mix of personal advice based entirely around individual needs took account of strategic family aims leading to prompt and effective hands on action and a lot of unexpected “going the extra mile” advice.
It definitely decreased stress levels and boosted our confidence in our decision. In fact their service is more like a “personal friend” who is keen to ensure that you and your family succeed and whom you can call upon any time. That to us is true personal service..
