The Danish Constitution allows total freedom of religion. The majority of the Danish born population belong to the Evangelic Lutheran Church (also the State Church) but most religions are represented in Danish society.
Many Danes are baptised as babies, learn religion at school, receive confirmation at age 14, get married and finally are buried within the auspices of the church, even though they may not practice their religion or attend masses each Sunday.
